Opus One Overture is the second wine of the celebrated Opus One estate in Napa Valley, crafted to capture the finesse of the flagship while offering a more accessible profile. It is a multi-vintage blend (including fruit from 2018 & 2019) combining traditional Bordeaux varieties—predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc—aged in new French oak to balance structure and softness.

On the nose, it displays profuse dark-fruit aromas of black cherry, plum, cassis, and boysenberry, layered with nuanced notes of cedar, cigar box, toasty brioche, and gentle spice. The palate is juicy and generous, with an abundance of red and black fruit (boysenberry, blackberry), framed by powdery tannins, ample acidity, and a plush, silky texture. The finish is long, marked by touches of black pepper, dark chocolate, and espresso.

This is a full-bodied red wine with depth, presence, and richness that still remains balanced and drinkable upon release.
