The Glenmorangie Distillery, which is also known as the Distillers of Tain, has existed for more than 175 years.
The Glenmorangie story begins in 1843 with farmer William Matheson and his wife, who set about building a distillery in the Scottish Highlands. On the Morangie Farm they refurbished an old brewery into the distillery we all know and love. Selling their whisky for mere shillings per gallon, the venture may have started small, its location remote, but the Mathesons' vision was extraordinary.
They were laying the foundations of what would become one of the most famous Scotch whisky distilleries in the world. Glenmorangie Whiskies are not created equal - they are raised as aristocrats. The water comes from the pristine spring of Tarlogie and the magic that happens is a result of teamwork of sixteen men, affectionately known as the Sixteen Men of Tain. These knights of Whisky distill the potion in the tallest stills in Scotland, creating a lighter and more refined Whisky.
The Glenmorangie 19 Years Old has been matured uniquely in the finest ex-Bourbon American white oak casks, giving an exceptional smoothness.
