Paulaner Salvator, renowned as the father of all strong beers, marks the beginning of Paulaner’s brewing history. This unfiltered bottom-fermented double bock has been brewed for over 375 years, staying true to its original recipe with only minor refinements. Salvator stands out for its strong and traditional qualities, being the patriarch of strong beers. It uniquely combines water, malted barley, yeast, and hops, including Herkules and Hallertauer Tradition varieties, along with Pilsner and Munich malt varieties​.

The brewing process for Salvator emphasizes the use of dark malt barley, known as “Munich malt,” which contributes to the beer’s dark, chestnut color. This process produces a beer with a mild, sweet aroma of chocolate and a distinctively bold, robust flavor, reinforcing its status as a rich and hearty beverage perfect for savoring​.
