Martens Super Strong 16% Can (24-pack)

Martens Super Strong 16% Can (24-Pack): An Intensely Strong Belgian Beer with Bold Malt Character

Martens Super Strong is a high-strength lager produced by Brouwerij Martens, a Belgian family brewery with a brewing heritage dating back to 1758. Originating from Bocholt, Belgium, the brewery is known for producing a broad range of beers, including strong lager styles designed for consumers who prefer a more powerful drinking experience. With its exceptionally high alcohol content and convenient 24-can pack, Martens Super Strong offers a distinctive option for those seeking a beer that stands well apart from conventional lagers.

The beer presents a golden colour, with a malt-forward aroma that can feature grain, gentle sweetness and noticeable alcoholic warmth. On the palate, expect a pronounced malty character, a touch of sweetness and a strong warming sensation that carries through to the finish. Its intensity and lingering flavour reflect its high-strength style, making it a more robust choice than an everyday lager.

What sets Martens Super Strong apart is its reported alcohol content of approximately 16.2% ABV, although the exact strength should be confirmed against the product label for the local market. This places it among the particularly strong lager offerings associated with the Martens brewing portfolio. The 24-pack provides multiple cans for stocking up, while the beer's concentrated character makes measured servings especially important.

For serving, chill the can before pouring into a clean beer glass. Enjoy it in a small serving to appreciate its malt-driven flavour without overwhelming the palate. Its robust profile can complement grilled meats, barbecue dishes, savoury sausages, mature cheeses and salted nuts. With an alcohol content this high, drink slowly, avoid combining it with other alcoholic drinks, and never drink and drive.
