At the northern end of Loch Lomond the first site of the Loch Lomond Distillery was established in 1814. With the biggest Lake of Great Britain and an impressive natural park it’s one of those places in Scotland that used to inspire poets and artists.
The current distillery was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery a few miles from Glasgow. Loch Lomond produces various brands and expressions. They also produce a blended Whisky called Loch Lomond Signature by using their own malt and grain Whisky. The distillery is known to be a self sufficient one.
Loch Lomond single malt Whiskies are tend to be aromatic, soft and sweet. A breeze of sea and smoke joins fruity profile in these Whiskies which can be found in various ages.
The 14 Year Old single malt is matured in American oak and finished in Limousin oak casks. Expect a fruit-forward dram here, with plenty of apple and citrus in there along with helpings of runny honey, soft cinnamon, and a gentle smoky note.
