Ledaig Distillery is located in Tobermory village, on the Hebridean island of Mull. The distillery, formerly known as Ledaig (meaning 'safe haven') is the only distillery on the island. It was founded in 1798 by John Sinclair.
These days the brand name ‘Ledaig’ is used for all their lightly peated malt Whisky, whereas the unpeated Whisky is sold as Tobermory. Leidaig is known to have malty aromas with peat smoke and maritime notes.
The Sinclair Riojo Cask expression is a smoky Ledaig single malt and has been made with heavily-peated barley, finished in hand-selected Rioja casks.
This particular edition packs plenty of peaty notes alongside the ripe red fruit sweetness imparted by the Rioja casks

The creamy texture of the whisky envelops the palate, delivering a delightful medley of almonds and sweet malt. The warm notes of cinnamon impart a subtle hint of spice, while the lingering smoky finish leaves a memorable impression. An enjoyable liquid that expertly balances richness and complexity.

I tried it because I wanted to experience something creamy, which it turned out to be. Also it had a lingering smoky finish. That whisky did not disappoint!
