Produced from just a single barrel of fruit sourced from Mercurey, this Bourgogne Rouge is a radiant expression of Jane Eyre’s signature finesse. Pale ruby in colour, it brims with bright red-cherry and raspberry fruit. The nose is fragrant and lively, while the palate offers a light to medium-bodied texture wrapped in juicy red fruit, crisp acidity, and soft, silky tannins. About The Winery

Jane Eyre, originally from Melbourne, Australia and with Norwegian roots, was a hairdresser before she started discovering wine and working for a wine merchant in the city. This new world fascinated her so deeply that she decided to study oenology and gain hands-on experience through internships at Cullen in Margaret River, Felton Road and Ata Rangi in New Zealand.

Falling in love with Burgundy and its wines, Jane repeatedly returned to the region, completing harvests and eventually securing work with Dominique Lafon at Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Her journey took her between Burgundy, New Zealand, and Germany as she continued building her winemaking skills, before finally settling in Beaune in 2004.

In 2011, she launched her own micro-négociant project. Working with parcels of old vines across the Côte d’Or and Beaujolais, she began producing her signature elegant, lightly oaked, minimal-intervention wines with fine, delicate fruit.

Jane’s talent quickly gained recognition: in 2020, La Revue du Vin de France awarded her the prestigious title “Négociant of the Year” making her not only the first Australian to receive the honor, but also the first woman.
