Sourced from vines planted in 1936, 1942, 1964, and 1972, this cuvée reflects a remarkable heritage rooted in some of Morey-Saint-Denis’s most characterful sites. Spread across 1 hectare and three distinct climats—Chenevery (60%), Clos Solon (15%), and Porroux (25%)—the wine captures the nuance and layered identity of this storied commune.

The 2021 “Trilogie” shows one of the richer colours of the vintage, its aromatic profile marked by ripe, expressive fruit. Notes of plum, sweet berries, smoke, and gentle forest floor rise from the glass, supported by a supple framework of powdery, well-integrated tannins. The palate is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, and concentrated, with a vibrant core of fruit and lively acidity that carries the wine through a refined, harmonious finish.

About The Winery

The Lignier family have owned the vineyards of Morey-Saint-Denis for over a century, beginning with Jacques Lignier’s replanting of phylloxera-stricken plots in the late 1800s. With each generation, from Jules to Henri, then Hubert and his son Romain, the Domaine grew in reputation, driven by meticulous vineyard work and a commitment to quality. After Romain’s passing, Laurent Lignier decides in 2007 to eliminate all synthetic products to lead the estate to organic certification in 2019 (“AB” - Agriculture Biologique). He also expanding it to 11 hectares while refining a style defined by precision and finesse. Today, the next generation, Sébastien and Maëlle, continues this legacy, carrying the Lignier name forward with renewed passion and vision.

After manual harvesting and careful sorting, the grapes are vinified in tanks and aged for nearly 2 years in oak barrels in our cellars. The Domaine intervenes minimally in the vinification process, preserving a portion of whole clusters to bring balance and complexity. Pump-overs and punch-downs are performed harmoniously to extract delicate and silky tannins. Before barreling, the lees are selected and evenly distributed in each barrel, with a proportion of 20 to 30% new oak.

A lengthy aging process of around 20 months follows to allow the wines to mature patiently. They are then racked and bottled by gravity, without filtration or clarification.
