Glenfarclas is one of the few independent family-owned distilleries left in Scotland. It's located in the heart of Speyside. The Grant Family bought it for a pretty penny in 1865. They are committed to the vision of creating the best Single Highlander Scotch and we believe they're doing a splendid job so far!
The Grant Family atill owns a large variety of expressions with thousands of barrels of quietly aging Sherry-mature Scotch Glenfarclass. Original bottle expressions starts from 8 year-old to 42 year-old.
It is almost impossible to generalize Glenfarclas' Whiskies. However quality conditions in the warehouses with the use of great Sherry casks make sure that Whisky from Glenfarclass will be rich, complex and a big experience for the consumer.
The 8 Year Old is a light, sweet and nutty single malt that offers notes of walnuts, marzipan, buttery pastry, green grass, vanilla fudge and raisins throughout the palate.

Nose
Fresh and grassy. Both fruits and malts combine with honey and some florals (tree blossom) to create a pleasant, but delicate bouquet that is straight form the garden. Some wet hay and damp soils give an earthiness. There’s something faintly metallic here, rather brass like.
Palate
Arrival is fine, but a touch watery. There’s both sweet and sour notes here. Green apples and some light sherried notes of fig, toffee and buttery chocolate. The brassiness is still present, as is the grassy herbalness. The middle-palate is a touch hollow unfortunately, with little grounding it to either the green garden notes or the light malts.
Finish
Short, fairly malty and with some mossy earthiness.
