Distilling in the Kintyre Peninsula dates back more than 400 years to 1609. The hamlet of Campbeltown was founded in 1832 and quickly became known as the Whisky Capital of the World.
Glen Scotia produces different styles of Whiskies. But what can be said for their Whiskies is they try to make it complex. Some of their Whiskies are highly peated but some of them are jam monsters.
Speaking of their current range they are generally complex, dark Whiskies with a lot of fruity characteristics. Caramelized aromas, with oak and forest fruits are mostly observed. Depending on the Whisky peat, smoke and sea salt is also found.
Glen Scotia Victoriana has been bottled at cask strength and finished in heavily-charred oak casks. Victoriana has notes of richly-spiced fruit, vanilla and oak throughout the palate, followed by a gently smoky finish.
It makes a superb introduction to the classic Glen Scotia style that will surprise and delight whisky explorers and connoisseurs alike.
