Berton Vineyard's Foundstone Merlot 2021 is an expressive and accessible red wine from South Eastern Australia.

Known for its deep, youthful color and vibrant fruit character, this Merlot offers aromas of plums, blueberries, and violets. On the palate, it delivers generous flavors of sour cherries, plum, and fragrant herbal notes, all wrapped in a velvety texture.

The grapes for this Merlot are machine-harvested from vineyards with an average cropping level of 6-7 tonnes per acre. The winemaking process is meticulously controlled, with fermentation carried out at temperatures between 25-28°C.

Berton Vineyards, established in 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton, is located in the High Eden subregion of the Barossa Valley, South Australia. The vineyard sits at an elevation of 450 meters above sea level, benefiting from cooler temperatures that contribute to the elegance and balance of their wines.

This Merlot pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, including feathered game, grilled beef, and tomato-based pasta dishes.
