About The Winery

Viña Errázuriz is one of Chile’s historic benchmark wineries, founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errázuriz Valdivieso. He was the first to introduce French grape varieties to the Aconcagua Valley, identifying its potential long before it became a leading wine region. The winery has remained family-owned since its founding and is now led by Eduardo Chadwick, a descendant of the founder, who represents the fifth generation and has played a key role in positioning Chile at the top tier of the global fine-wine scene.

The estate’s core is located in Panquehue, in the inland part of the Aconcagua Valley, but its vineyards extend across a wide geographic range, from Aconcagua Costa near the Pacific Ocean to warmer Andean foothill sites further inland. This “coast-to-Andes” approach gives Errázuriz access to markedly different climatic conditions: cool, ocean-influenced sites that preserve acidity and aromatic precision, and warmer inland areas that deliver structure and depth. Altitudes vary significantly, reinforcing freshness and site definition.

Soils mirror this diversity. Coastal vineyards are dominated by schist and metamorphic rock, particularly suited to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while inland and Andean sites feature alluvial soils with granite and clay, ideal for Bordeaux varieties. Vinification 

In the cellar, Errázuriz combines historical heritage with modern infrastructure. The estate’s historic underground cellars coexist with a modern gravity-flow winery completed in 2010, designed for gentle handling of fruit and energy efficiency. Winemaking is site-driven rather than formulaic: fermentations and extraction are adapted to each variety and terroir, and oak is used with restraint to support structure without obscuring origin.
