On the nose, the wine opens with notes of lemon peel, white peach, and honeysuckle, lifted by a delicate floral freshness. The palate is medium to full-bodied, layered and textural without excess weight, balancing ripe orchard fruit with bright acidity and a persistent, gently nutty finish. This Clos de Rougeot shows the elegance and restraint of the Lafouge style, combined with the natural depth that Meursault lovers prize.

About The Winery
The village of Auxey-Duresses has, with climate change, become a great source of top-value Chardonnay.
Situated in the village of Auxey-Duresses, Domaine Lafouge’s regional roots date back to the 17th century, though it wasn’t until 1830 that the family began acquiring vines around Burgundy.
Today, the estate is led by fifth-generation winemaker Gilles Lafouge. After studying winemaking and completing numerous internships, Gilles returned home to work alongside his father in 1987. Over the past 20 years, Gilles has really made a name for himself, consistently producing high-quality wines from the emerging appellation of Auxey-Duresses.
The Domaine farms 10 hectares of vines. Most of the holdings are in Auxey-Duresses, particularly the lieux-dits and 1er Crus for which he is best known, with a few parcels in Meursault and Pommard, all of which are farmed organically, though without official certification.
Gilles notes that there are many harvesting machines in Auxey, but all work at the Domaine is done by hand, regardless of the cuvée. During harvest, every grape is picked manually. The greatest, hardest, and most meaningful part of the work takes place in the vineyards, as the quality of the grapes is considered the fundamental element in crafting prestigious wines.
