About The Winery

Château Chasse‑Spleen is a well-established estate in the Moulis‑en‑Médoc appellation, long regarded as one of the leading properties of this lesser-known Médoc area. Over time, the château has built a reputation for producing classically structured Bordeaux with consistency and ageing potential.

Chasse-Spleen has 130 hectares of vines. 125 hectares of red and 5 hectares of white grapes. The vines are on average 30 years of age.

The vineyards are planted on gravelly, well-drained soils, well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and are managed with careful attention to vine balance and yield control. Vinification is carried out on a parcel basis with temperature control, followed by ageing in French oak barrels, allowing the wines to develop structure, complexity and a distinctly Médoc character.

On the nose, Château Chasse-Spleen reveals expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice. The palate is rich and structured, offering flavors of dark berries, cocoa, and gentle earthy undertones supported by firm yet refined tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long, smooth, and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of fruit, oak, and spice.
