About The Winery

Cantina del Barone is a small, family-run estate located in Cesinali, one of the most prized communes for Fiano within the Fiano di Avellino DOCG. The Barone family has cultivated these vineyards for generations, but it was with the vision of Luigi Sarno—an agronomist devoted to the preservation of local varieties—that the estate gained wider recognition.

Farming is meticulous and fully geared toward expressing the character of the land. The vineyards sit on volcanic and clay-limestone soils at significant elevation, where cool breezes and large day–night temperature swings promote aromatic intensity and natural freshness. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with strict selection in the vineyard to ensure purity and precision.

In the cellar, the philosophy is gentle and transparent. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by extended lees ageing to build texture without sacrificing clarity. No oak is used, allowing the grape’s natural aromatic profile and minerality to take center stage. The result is a Fiano of authenticity, finesse, and unmistakable territorial identity.
