About The Winery

Bertinga is a wine estate located in Gaiole in Chianti, one of the highest and coolest areas of the Chianti Classico zone. The project was established in the early 2010s as an independent winery and originated from the same territorial context as Castello di Ama, from which it developed as a separate estate.

Bertinga is run by owners with long-standing experience in Italian wine. Alongside Bertinga, the same ownership is also behind Isole e Olena, one of Tuscany’s reference estates, reflecting decades of involvement in Tuscan viticulture and winemaking. The project is supported by external winemaking consultancy, providing technical guidance while the estate remains closely focused on its vineyards and cellar work in Gaiole.

The estate comprises approximately 6 hectares of vineyards, situated at high elevations typical of Gaiole in Chianti. The climate is cool, with significant diurnal temperature variation, contributing to freshness, precision and structure in the wines. Soils are predominantly stony, with galestro and limestone components. The vineyards are organically farmed, with an emphasis on low-intervention practices, balanced yields and site expression.

Vinification

The clusters were hand-picked into 10kg boxes and then manually selected on the sorting table. The grapes were vinified in concrete tanks. The wine then remained in concrete tanks and 2500L Austrian oak barrels for 18 months in the temperature-controlled cellar. After bottling the wine aged a further 18 months minimum in the bottle prior to release. 

On the nose, Punta di Adine reveals intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and ripe berries, layered with notes of tobacco, leather, cocoa, and subtle spice from oak maturation. The palate is full-bodied and structured, delivering flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and gentle earthy undertones supported by well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long, smooth, and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of fruit, spice, and oak.
