Auchentoshan - American Oak

  • The All-American Auchentoshan

Antique records from the year 1800 mention an (illegal) Duntocher distillery, which may have been a predecessor to the legal Auchentoshan distillery. A license for distillation was obtained in 1823. Auchentoshan distillery is one of only 3 remaining Lowlands distilleries after the whisky market crash that caused a rash of distillery closures in 1983. It is also known as “Glasgow’s Malt Whisky” because it’s located near Glasgow. Also known as “the breakfast whisky” because of its sweet and delicate nature. Auchentoshan means 'Corner of the Field' in Gaelic.

Auchentoshan practices a triple distillation which is a fairly common practice in Ireland, but much less so in Scotland where the majority of distilleries practice a 2x distillation. This makes its whiskies sweet and more delicate, which is unique. The triple distillation method lead Auchentoshan to be a favored whisky among blenders because of its light blendable quality.

Auchentoshan American Wood is aged only in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. This non-age statement Whisky is the latest permanent addition to the Auchentoshan range. You'll get lots of vanilla sweetness here, with a smooth liquid owing to the triple distilled process Auchentoshan has put this Whisky through. Definitely a fan favorite and a good aperitif or even if you want to share a casual dram over dinner.

Just had the most 🔥 whisky experience ever. The flavors are very good - spicy vanilla & tropical coconut. Loving it 💯

    Estelle Mosley

With its vibrant infusion of bourbon-vanilla and coconut, this Scotch Single Malt offers a truly unique flavor profile. The zesty citrus fruit adds a refreshing twist. The crisp sugared grapefruit and lingering hint of spice in the aftertaste create an absolute delight for the palate.
